It’s not every day you get to shoot a wedding for your high school prom date. Don’t worry… it’s not as awkward as it sounds! Here’s the story…
I’ve known Suzanne since middle school. We were a part of a larger group of friends that grew up going to church together, and all decided to go to prom together (in our case, as friends). So when I got the call from Suzanne saying she’d met the man of her dreams in Matt, and they wanted me to be their wedding photographer, I was thrilled for my longtime friend, and honored that they asked!
Matt and Suzanne’s wedding was absolutely beautiful. Set in the gorgeous garden paradise of Atlanta’s Cator Woolford Gardens, you couldn’t help but have your breath taken away from the moment you arrived. But with clouds looming overhead, the question on everyone’s mind that day was: will the summer rain stay away? Keep scrolling to find out!
Thankfully…. other than a few sprinkles right before the wedding began, the day was precipitation-free, leaving amazing cloud coverage and a gorgeous soft light to cascade down on the day’s festivities!
It wasn’t until the very end of the night, as our bride and groom made their grand exit, that the rain began to pour… as if the it had been holding off all day just for these two young lovers!
