Imagine enduring the anticipation and longing of a nearly year-and-a-half long engagement…. only to have your Barnsley Resort wedding delayed by a global health scare at the last moment for an ADDITIONAL year.
Then imagine, after all that patience, and waiting, and replanning… at the 11th hour, your outdoor wedding is looking to be derailed by a series of extended rainstorms spanning nearly your entire wedding weekend.
That was Taylor and Madison’s story. Madison first reached out to me all the way back in 2018 about their wedding. We took their engagement photos months later, in 2019, with still a year to go before their big day. Their original wedding date was among the first wave of reschedules in April 2020, and because of the scope of Madison’s vision for her big day, they had to wait until 2021 to reschedule. Only to find out, come wedding week, that the forecast was looking nothing short of dismal.
Thankfully, for Madison and Taylor, their story didn’t stop there.
After a rainy start to wedding day, In what could only be described as a miracle, the skies dried up, just before Taylor and Madison’s first look. The skies parted. Beams of sunlight kissed the ground with their warm glow. As if on cue, the cascading hills of the stunning Barnsley Resort suddenly came alive with vibrant color. Sofia Ocampo and her Chancey Charm team were buzzing around, calling audibles to take advantage of this unexpected-but-oh-so-welcome final shift to the forecast. The remainder of the day was as stunning as the weather, punctuated by a romantic lakeside stroll for the newlyweds at sunset!
Taylor and Madison, it has been such a joy to serve you over the past THREE years as you’ve waited and prepared for this day! Everything around you may have been in chaos, but you two were calm and steady, exuding peace and confidence throughout! Those are qualities that define great marriages… the ability to remain steady and calm no matter what life throws your way! Thank you for sticking with us these past 3 years through all the ups and downs, and for the honor of capturing your Big Day! We hope these memories bring you tremendous joy together for a lifetime to come!
