When today’s bride told about her plans to dance with her grandfather at her wedding, my eyes got a little misty. When she told me his sweet wife, her grandmother, had recently passed, I knew I’d never hold it together on wedding day.
And when the moment came, my heart was beating a million miles an hour. I can only imagine what Madison her husband, Nathan, must have felt as they anticipated this moment.
No one saw it coming, but the bride and groom. Her grandfather stood. Walked over to his beautiful granddaughter, a vision in her white dress. He held her close, as Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” began to play. And for the next few minutes, it was hard to find a dry eye at this Springs Aubrey wedding. Madison’s grandfather closed his eyes. He smiled. She beamed down at him with the kind of affection only a granddaughter could have for her grandfather.
With COVID-19 throwing everyone’s year into a tailspin, seeing was truly a little piece of heaven on earth.
Nathan and Madison, thank you for allowing us the honor of capturing this priceless memory among the many magical moments that filled your wedding day (and all the laughs and crazy dance moves, too!). Your organized-but-laid-back demeanor from day one made for an absolutely STUNNING wedding day, and I have not stopped raving about how much fun we had with y’all and your crew ever since!
Congratulations… we love you guys!
