A blustery winter chill had settled over TCU’s Robert Carr Chapel in Fort Worth. Temperatures had been below freezing for nearly 72 hours. Winds were picking up. But Dalton was determined: nothing was gonna stop his Robert Carr Chapel proposal to the love of his life, Kate, from happening.

Dalton’s family arrived early that afternoon to set up the space with flowers and beautifully-thought-out details Dalton had picked from their relationship (like the receipt from their first date at Main Event!). We were perched in the balcony of Robert Carr Chapel, with an incredible vantage point to capture the moment unseen.

Even in those frozen-in-time moments walking down the aisle to where Dalton would soon propose, Kate didn’t know what was about to happen. Based on her shocked reaction when they reached the front of the chapel, I’m not even sure she noticed the table had been set up especially for her. Her eyes were locked on Dalton’s from the moment they walked in the room!

And then it happened. Dalton got down on one knee. Pulled out the ring. And, in what was undoubtedly one of the most confident decisions of his life, he asked Kate to marry him!

Kate’s response, as she described it, was “the easiest yes” of her life!

Dalton and Kate, when we first took those pics of y’all outside TCU’s football stadium back in the fall, I had no idea I’d have the honor of capturing your Robert Carr Chapel proposal! There are few things that bring me as much joy as a photographer as getting to capture moments like this for one of our Campus Reps. Kate, getting to know you over your senior year has been such a joy, and seeing how much you and Dalton love each other, I just can’t help but be thrilled for the road God has ahead of you as husband and wife!!!
